SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- La Policía ha entrevistado varias personas pero no hay ningún detenido con relación al asesinato del periodista Blas Olivo Santana, muerto dos balazos en el tórax y dos en el abdomen, y cuyo cadáver fue encontrado en la comunidad de Arroyo Vuelta, Piedra Blanca, provincia Monseñor Nouel.
El coronel Jacobo Mateo Moquete, vocero de la Policía, dijo que con relación al crimen hasta el momento no tienen pistas sobre los autores del asesinato del comunicador social.
El portavoz policial indicó que “el equipo de investigadores especializados que designó el jefe de la Policía, mayor general Manuel Castro Castillo antes de aparecer el cadáver de Olivo Santana, sigue en Bonao, realizando investigaciones en varios aspectos, puntos y lugares del país”.
Los restos del periodista eran velados esta mañana en la Funeraria Taveras, en la calle Duarte número 7 del sector Los Amapolos, por donde habían desfilado personas de todos los extractos sociales para darle el último adiós.
El sepelio será esta tarde en el cementerio Caracol, y previo el harán una misa de cuerpo presente.
Olivo estaba desaparecido desde la tarde del domingo luego de salir de Bonao donde participó en la celebración de un “cabo de año”, de un pariente.
Oficiales de la Dirección de Investigaciones Criminales de la Policía (Dicrim) investigan el asesinato del periodista Olivo Santana, de 64 años de edad.
El comunicador había sido reportado desaparecido desde el domingo por su esposa Raquel de la Cruz, luego que saliera de Bonao hacia la capital, tras participar en una actividad familiar.
La yipeta de Olivo Santana, una Toyota Land Cruiser, Prado, placa G154684, gris, fue encontrada ayer abandonada en la comunidad de Palero, cerrada y con las llaves dentro, y desde donde fue llevada a la sede del comando regional Sur-Cibao, de Bonao.
Según el legista, José Miguel Sánchez, quien levantó el cadáver, el periodista recibió cuatro impactos de bala, dos en el tórax y dos en el abdomen.
El hallazgo del cadáver lo dio a conocer Jesús López, encargado de la finca Mountain Ranch, del kilómetro 64 de la autopista Duarte, donde en el camino principal fue encontrado el cuerpo.
Olivo Santana, era nativo de Montecristi y era casado con la periodista Raquel de la Cruz, con quien tenía tres hijos, Deliana, Misael y Massiel. Sus hermanos tienen muchos años residiendo en Bonao.
Olivo Santana estudió economía y comunicación social en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, laboró en los los periódicos Hoy y El Nuevo Diario. Producía el programa Agro Vida y laboraba en relaciones públicas del Merca Santo Domingo, además fue durante 20 años director de relaciones públicas de la Junta Agroempresarial Dominicana (JAD).

Piden aclarar crimen
El Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas y la Junta Agroempresarial Dominicana, exigen esclarecer el crimen de Olivo Santana, el cual calificaron como vandálico, y exigieron al procurador de la República, Francisco Domínguez Brito, y al jefe de la Policía, Manuel Castro Castillo, profundizar las investigaciones hasta apresar los autores y determinar su causa.
