BARAHONA.- Barahona nuevamente vuelve a ser victima de las mentiras y manipulaciones por parte de algunos funcionarios del gobierno que prometieron villas y castillo, durante los pasados cuatros años de gobierno encabezado por Danilo Medina Sánchez.
Entre las obras abandonas y que no se han iniciado están La Presa de Monte Grande, una de las obras cumbre para el desarrollo económico de la región, carretera Barahona-Enriquillo, donde el tiempo y las lluvias se llevaron varios millones en el inicio de la reconstrucción de esta importante carretera.
Otras de las obras prometidas en campaña lo fue la construcción de la carretera Barahona Santa Elena, así como la ampliación de la carretera Barahona-Azua, donde varios lomas de tierras que fueron encementadas por el ministerio de obras públicas, se desplomaron, poniendo en riesgo la vida de cientos de personas que se transporta por esa importante vía de acceso hacía Azu-Bani y Santo Domingo.
La terminación del bulevar turístico María Montez, considerado una de las mayores estafa y burla a los barahoneros y que nunca se inauguró ni mucho menos fue entregada, ha sido una de las obras mas olvidada.
Otro de los puntos principales para el desarrollo de Barahona y toda la provincia es el desarrollo del turismo, donde el gobierno ha lucido inerte, ya que no se están creando las facilidades ni las condiciones para motivar la inversión privada en esta importante área como lo es el turismo.
La planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales, construcción de un mercado público entre otras obras de sumo interés para el municipio cabecera, son de las obras que han sido clamada por la sociedad de Barahona
